再，一次
Encore
有人喊：再来一次。
于是他们回来。
不是第一次，也不像最后一次。剧场知道怎样让人回来：灯亮，掌声起，身体转向观众，笑容定在脸上。演出继续，演出重新开始，演出仿佛从未停止。
《再，一次》的开场即谢幕。谢幕后是服装间，服装间后是化妆室，化妆室后是天台。每一处都像后台，每一处也都是舞台。
演员被量过，被校准过，被牵起过。与此同时，剧场被逐层拆开，让人看清它怎样运转。
问题不是能不能离开。问题是，门开着的时候，谁还在等那句“安可”。
Someone calls out: One more time.
So they return.
Not for the first time, nor, it seems, for the last. The theatre knows how to bring people back: the lights come up, applause rises, bodies turn towards the audience, smiles are fixed in place. The performance continues, the performance begins again, the performance seems never to have stopped.
“Encore” opens with a curtain call. After the curtain call comes the wardrobe room, after the wardrobe room comes the makeup room, after the makeup room comes the rooftop. Every space feels like backstage, and every space is also a stage.
The performers have been measured, calibrated, pulled upright. Meanwhile, the theatre is taken apart, layer by layer, so we can see how it works.
The question is not whether leaving is possible. The question is who, with the door standing open, is still waiting for that call of “Encore”.
